Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is also known as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon.
You can visit the famous temples in a day, and the journey wouldn't be that fun and worthwhile without taking the ferry boat ride.
Click on the links or pictures for more information of the place.
1. Starting from Saphan Tak Sin BTS, take the ferry to Tha Tien. (40 Baht. There are ferries that costs cheaper than 40 Baht but I've never found one.)
2. At Tha Tien, take another ferry going to Wat Arun. (3 Baht)
3. After Wat Arun, head back to the port and go back to Tha Tien. (3 Baht)
4. From the port (Tha Tien), walk outside till you see Wat Pho.
5. Across Wat Pho is Wat Phra Kaew, but the entrance to Wat Phra Kaew is on the other side of the street.
6. When you're done with Wat Phra Kaew, head to Wat Saket. We walked to see the several shops selling giant Buddhas and the Giant Swing. If you're tired but still want more, either take a taxi or tuktuk, then head to Wat Saket.
7. The last destination is Wat Traimit. To go there from Wat Saket, I advise you to take a taxi or tuktuk.
8. Once you're finished, you can go further up the street and enjoy nice food in Chinatown.

It means,(listen))
"City of angels, great city of immortals, magnificent city of the nine gems, seat of the king, city of royal palaces, home of gods incarnate, erected by Visvakarman at Indra's behest." (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangkok)Bangkok is beautiful and very cultural. If you're staying in or planning to visit Bangkok, you should visit the temples, go to the bars and clubs later, you have those where you're from.

I think it's tiring to them all in one day, but good for you that you did them.
ReplyDeleteI would want to enjoy and take my time.
Maybe I'd divide them, with those places above, in two days, and I don't want to walk. Haha.
Cheers!!
I'm very pleased to uncover this page. I wanted to thank you for ones time due to this wonderful read!!

I think that what you published was actually very reasonable.
ReplyDeleteBut, consider this, suppose you composed a catchier post title?
I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your blog, but suppose you added something to possibly get
a person's attention? I mean "Temple Hopping in Bangkok" is
kinda boring. You could look at Yahoo's front page and watch how they write article headlines to get viewers interested.
You might add a related video or a related pic or two to get people interested about what you've written. In my opinion,
it could make your posts a little bit more interesting.
